3 DAYS

Ishinca – Cojup

TREK OVERVIEW

Duration 3 days
Difficulty Moderate to Hard
Range of Altitude 3,700m to 5,350m / 12,139ft to 17,552ft
Distance Covered Approximately 30km

The Ishinca – Cojup trek provides ample opportunity for hikers to revel in the splendour of the Cordillera Blanca and its majestic landscape within a short time frame, suitable for trekkers with limited time.

Pass through undulating meadows, camp by a beautiful, turquoise-coloured lake (Lake Perolcocha) and enjoy arresting sights of snow-capped peaks such as Mount Ranrapalca (6,162m/20,217ft), Mount Ishinca (5,550m/18,143ft), Mount Tocllaraju (6,032m/19,790ft) and Mount Vallunarahu (5,686m/18,655ft), all the more incredible when viewed from the Ishinca pass (5,350m/17,552ft), the highest point of the trek.

Given the high altitude one reaches during this trek over a short amount of time, all trekkers must be well acclimatised and bear a good degree of fitness.
